New Favorite Video on Youtube: Chevy Sonic: Claw Game promotion

Chevrolet took over Hollywood Boulevard last week, re-creating a giant-sized, 3D version of the old-school claw game in front of the famous Roosevelt Hotel.

Passers-by lined up for a chance to use a human-sized joystick to direct the claw- – which was projected onto the side of a building–to pick up an array of prizes including a $4,000 vacation, a Burton snowboard, and one for lucky person, a 2012 Chevy Sonic.

Chevy has been big on leveraging outdoor stunts; recently it created a social- media powered bungee jump, also to promote the Sonic.

Android Taking Apple to the Cleaners – Top OS in August with Nearly Twice Apple’s Marketshare – Millennial

For nine consecutive months Android has topped the charts in Millennial Media’s “Mobile Mix” mobile device usage share report. Based on the traffic Millenial monitors on its mobile ad network, they continued to confirm that Android continues to make inroads into the pockets of consumers all around the world.

Furthermore, they actually found that Android’s share of the mobile OS market came in at 54% for the month of August, which is quite stunning – and almost double that of the nearest competing platform. Apple’s iOS is now resting quite happily in the high twenties, at 28% in second place, followed by RIM’s BlackBerry OS at 13%.

What is important to remember however is that iOS is essentially just a few devices, while Android is nearly 90, at last count, not counting all the Chinese based OEM’s flooding the market abroad.

Additionally, Apple has done an excellent job remaining in the top spot as manufacturer by usage in August with a 23.19% share, with HTC reclaiming its No. 2 position with 16.33%. Samsung slid to the no. 3 spot with 14.55%, followed by Motorola with 11.37% and RIM slid into the No. 5 position with 11.06%. Additional charts from their August report are below.
